PUBLIC ART & PLACEMAKING

Louisiana

The Arts Program of the Walls Project work ranges from producing ten-story murals on high-rise buildings, creating interactive healing arts sculptures at hospitals, and recycling yard signs into mini-mural canvasses for children.

The Walls provides pathways for creatives of all ages to engage with their community, fuel their passion for progress, and interact with professional artists.

Little Art Library

The free Little Art Library is located outside The Walls Project Headquarters, 458 America Street, in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge. Everything housed in the library is provided by donation. Patrons are encouraged to take what they want and drop off what they don't need anymore. The goal is to provide a sustainable way for artists to try new things and create without financial limitations. We want to foster creativity in our community and do so in a way that is environmentally responsible.

All donations are welcome, but please do not include any combustible items (spray paint), sharp objects, or perishable items (food).  All items should be usable for the purpose of arts and crafts.
